Do non-artists realise how tense life can be when one is commissioned to produce an artwork from a description that the commissioner can see in his or her mind’s eye, and which the artist has to try to replicate? My policy is that if a commission is not liked, then no money exchanges hands. This morning I received word that the first draft of a design for an illuminated poem had been accepted. So I am a relieved, happy bunny!!
I have five commissions to produce at the moment, so am working flat out on these, as well as my bookwork. It is so nice to be busy. Unfortunately, with private commissions it is not etiquette to show them in progress, and I only publish them on the website with commissioner’s grace once they are completed, so I apologise for the lack of progress report pictures.
