The ladies of Cambridge Lawn Tennis Club (of which I am a member) held a secret tender event to raise money for Cambridge Milton Hospice for terminally ill children. I pledged a graphite drawing in any subject. The event raised over £1,500 for the hospice.

The person who won the tender requested a drawing of this lovely black labrador, Tara. I visited her and we went for a walk so that I could photograph her in her natural environment and see her character. She is a lovely dog, 10 years old, but very spritely and she showed me all her little nuances

Here she is standing attentively, head slightly cocked, waiting for her owner to throw a ball—she still had a bit of grass sticking out of her mouth from a previous fetching session! Sadly, Tara passed away in January 2021.
