We are more than just an exhibition. Our aim is to inspire creativity and
encouraging families to come along and for children and young people alike to get involved in making art.
Swavesey Village College pupils get involved in the running of the event every year, getting hands on experience of what it takes to put on an exhibition of this scale, documenting artwork, welcoming guests and interviewing judges and artists in order to produce a photographic and written review of the exhibition.Artist in Residence; Shane Swann is a local artist with an outstanding reputation as a Wildlife Illustrator and Environmental Artist. His work, using highly detailed pen and pencil techniques, dramatically draws attention to the pressures that the human population put on the natural world, and highlights some of the wonderful creatures we striving to protect.
Make sure to visit the cafe area where we will be taking part in The Big Draw on Saturday and Sunday, the theme this year being “Drawn to Life”. Have a go at drawing a selfie or spend time observing and drawing from a still life.
At the Preview evening, the exhibition will be
officially opened by Jim Stavrou, Headteacher Swavesey Village College
